Dear
friends:
Thank you for all of your kindness! We have had a great round of shows
this season in celebration of Native American Heritage month. This
year NASA, in conjunction with the United States Air Force, sponsored
some shows at Edwards Air Force Base. The crowds were very kind
to us, and we were treated so well by them. I want to especially thank
Mr. James Lucero of NASA, who was instrumental I organizing the shows.
A couple of the highlights were the medals presented to us from the
412 OSS, which was my old unit in my own Air Force days, (!) and a beautiful
plaque from NASA and the U.S. Air Force, in recognition of our efforts.
It is so gratifying to be recognized by these organizations which we
have been involved with all these years. I was really touched by it
all. I have included some photos
from these events, and hope you will enjoy them.
Also: The CD is almost finished and we are soooo excited about releasing
it! As we get closer to the finished product, we will announce a release
date, probably around February. Thank you guys for all you have done
to make our dreams come true- you all rock.
From the bottom of my heart and Gils - ROCK OOOOOOONNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear
friends:
-
I just wanted to take a minute out of my crazy schedule
to pass on this email I received from Chris Martini regarding
his new movie. Again, I am so honored to be participating in this film.
The short has been making the rounds of the film festivals, and has
met with alot of success. ROCK ON!!! To see the short, the fundraiser
footage, etc., go to the following link:
-
http://www.myspace.com/stonechildthemovie
-
Also, thank you for all the kind notes you all have sent me, regarding
this project. To answer a few questions:
-
1. Yes, I have agreed to perform in the film.
2. Yes, Gil and Chris played at the fundraiser, and will be in the band
in the film as well.
3. Yes, my hair has grown out considerably, and no I have no plans to
cut it short ever again!
4. Yes, we, as usual performed live- no lip sync. Chris layered our
songs over the performances, because of the noise factor in the room
while they were shooting the show- glasses clinking, money cha-chinging!
( Just kidding!)Although the amps were turned up, and you couldn't hear
that stuff while we were playing.
Rock On!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very busy for The Stone Child with four festivals
in California, Arizona and DC.
-
Also this week Jimmy Lee Young directed a woman to us about promoting
the film during
an event on Native American Music, Film and Culture in Florida.
This would
be a great opportunity to attract investors to the feature and

Dear friends,
Thank you for all your support and kindness! There are a couple of news
items I'd like to pass on to you.
-
First,
a re-cap.Gil, Chris Webb, and myself have an acoustic form of
my songs that we do.We went to Canada for the Canadian Aboriginal
Music Awards, and were invited to play 2 shows at the festival.
We played the main stage on day one and the cafe stage on day two. It
was held at the Skydome at the the Rogers Center in Toronto.
What a rocking scene! Alot of the Native artists came up to me and wanted
to trade Cd's after they heard our set. I got some terrific music from
some oustanding artists. One was from a kid named Wabs Whitebird.
The Cd is called Success is the Best Revenge, and another called
Phoenix by Fara Palmer, who is a true native sister with a great
voice! The crowd at the Sky Dome was so awesome! The nomination we received
was for the Best International category. There were only 3 nominees
from the United States, and the award went to Robert Miribal.
Rock on! We were interviewed by a few native Dj's including Sonic
Dave and Dan Smoke, of Smoke Signals Radio. Highlight: Reps from
Anduhyaun came out to see us, and we were so happy to meet each other!
It was like a strange homecoming after working on the song, and dedicating
it to Anduhyaun!
-
We returned to Southern California for the Rock City Music Awards,
which honor the bands and artists pounding out tunes in the Hollywood
scene. It was held at B. B. King's club in the Universal Citywalk.
It was a packed house, with legendary 80's rocker Jamie Lane of Warrant,
as the guest artist. He sang a great set including, " Heaven Isn't
Too Far Away", " and "Where The Down Boys Go". We
were in a booth right up front, and I sometimes can't believe where
our music has taken us! I won the World Artist Of The Year Award
for the second time in a row (!), and we received a Native American
Heritage Award for our work abroad and at home. I dedicated the
awards to Pony Records who sponsored our Swiss Tour, and to the
women of Anduhyaun, in Toronto. We are very happy campers!
-
So now I am setting our sights on finishing our video, and recording
the new record.Hopefully it will be out in the summer, and will include
some very special guests from Native America.
-
Once again, thank you for all you have done for us. And remember...
ROCK ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
